Regardless of whether it is an internal combustion engine, EV, HEV, PHEV, or FC, the lightweighting of automotive body steel sheets has become an eternal theme in advancing the lightweighting of automobiles. To achieve lightweighting, the use of high-strength steel sheets raises the issue of poor workability, which automotive OEMs and Tier-1 companies are addressing through research to improve formability. As the strength of high-tensile steel sheets reaches GPa levels, existing formability testing machines are insufficient in capacity. We introduce a 1000 kN class formability testing machine (for hole expansion tests, deep drawing tests, Erichsen tests, etc.) as a solution to this problem.
